At diagnosing the gas-distribution mechanism on comparison of parameters of crankshaft (camshaft) transannular angular velocity changes with their rating values it is offered to ensure a turn mode of the decompression engine (with the turned out spark-plugs or injectors) with the starter and with the given rotation frequency [1]. The concrete definition of gas-distribution mechanism malfunctions is carried out on comparison of the measured values of angular velocity fluctuations amplitudes Аω and their phase situations extremum φω within the turning angle limits appropriate imaginary «explosion stroke» in concrete cylinders, as among themselves (on cylinders), and with their nominal sizes.
